Amber in the jewellery
Jantar belongs to the most characteristic gemstones in the Polish adornment. On account of the easiness of shaping and very limited range of appearing a long time ago belonged to extremely valued. Polish Amber in Europe not only became famous in thanks of the production of the jewellery and utilitarian articles, but above all rendered famous to Amber Chamber. Was ordered by Fryderyk Hohenzollern I in 1701 at Gdansk jeweller’s champions, and constituted complete laying out one of palace chambers. Works lasted for eleven years. Work was impressive: walls of the room about 10,5×11,5 m. covered precisely slices of amber. The chamber unfortunately was being stolen by Germans during the II World War and to today wasn’t found.
